What is iComm?

iCommunication is "The New Media Design Initiative," a new program at Ball State, funded by a major Lilly grant, designed to explore and facilitate the convergence of New Media.  It includes three major areas.

1. The Center for Media Design, a research, production, and education center which is to be the central hub of all iComm activity and a major new physical and conceptual presence on campus;

2.  The Global media Network, concerned mainly with linking iComm to partners in education and commerce all over the world; and

3.  The Media Studies Program, concerned mainly with exploring the interdisciplinary potential of New media and, in local terms, working appropriate New Media elements into programs all over campus, and into the Core Curriculum.  Student Media Production Awards come out of the Media Studies Program.
